What to expect
- Games are assigned by the head umpire, who runs the crew. Every assignment reaches you by email — and by text if you opt in — with the head umpire’s contact for anything that comes up.
- Your portal shows your games, your partner, pay per game, and a calendar you can subscribe to on your phone.
- Arrive 15 minutes early. Professionalism and sportsmanship are the job; Little League rules plus ULL’s local rules are the book. Division notes from the head umpire cover field-specific quirks.
- A background check is required every calendar year for anyone working with kids. It’s a short online application from TazWorks and the league covers the fee.
- Can’t make a game? Email the head umpire as early as you can and they re-assign it. Assignments are only ever changed by the head umpire — there is nothing to accept or decline online.
Pay per game
Per umpire, per game. Work exactly one game on a day and it carries a flat $10 extra for the trip. Paid weekly through the head umpire for the prior Monday–Sunday.
